The Life/form® Advanced Breast Exam Simulator offers unparalleled realism for teaching both clinical and self-breast examination.

Its tissue density actually varies within the simulated breast, just as it does in a live patient.

Tumors of varying sizes (1-4 cm diameter), shapes (round, oval, irregular/stellate), and densities can be inserted by the instructor for an expanded combination of training scenarios.

Tumors represent adenomas, cysts, malignant tumors, and enlarged lymph nodes. The torso is correctly positioned in the supine position and allows access to both axillae.

The trainer features palpable ribs, sternum and clavicles, and enlarged lymph nodes in the axillary and subclavicular areas. Peau d'orange ("orange peel skin") with inflammation, inverted nipple, skin dimpling, and asymmetry are also depicted on the incredibly realistic skin.

The Life/form® Advanced Breast Exam Simulator has been designed for supine examination, but may also be used standing upright if desired. Training may also be done without the overlay skin.

Includes a rigid underbody, right and left breast inserts, overlay skin, three tumor sets (27 lumps), nine soft lumps to represent soft breast tissue, one hard lump to represent chestwall infiltration, baby powder, hard carrying case, and instruction manual.

The Life/form® Cervical Dilatation/Effacement Simulators are designed
to facilitate the teaching, demonstration, and practice of cervical exami-
nation prior to birth. Every effort has been made to provide exceptional
realism in these simulators so that the visual and tactile sensations

Internal Structure
The complete set of simulators consists of six separate pelvic blocks. The external appearance of all six blocks is identical
with the variations occuring only within the internal structure. Internal texture, tissue density, and correct anatomical size
are all carefully represented to provide the most realistic condition possible.
The simulators depict six different cervical conditions prior to birth. Each pelvic block is identified on the bottom to indi-
cate which condition exists internally. (See figure 1.) The different conditions depicted are:
Stage 1 no dilation, no effacement Stage 4 5 cm dilation, full effacement
Stage 2 2 cm dilation, 50% effacement Stage 5 7 cm dilation, full effacement
Stage 3 2 cm dilation, full effacement Stage 6 9 cm dilation, full effacement

The Life/form® Breast Examination Simulator is a teaching and practicing simulator to train individuals breast palpation techniques. 

Special vinyl formulations have been used to create the most lifelike look and feel possible. A unique feature of this simulator is the realistic fluid breast mass. This mass allows displacement of breast tissue under palpation almost exactly as it occurs in a live patient.

Each breast contains abnormalities. The left has a small nodule in the upper outer quadrant and a fibroadenoma in the lower inside quadrant. The right breast has a fixed lump in the upper outer quadrant, a fluid filled cyst in the lower inside quadrant.

The simulator allows women to practice all phases of breast examination in both a sitting and supine position. This lightweight simulator is designed with a concave back to allow placement against the patient for ease in demonstrating or practicing palpation techniques.

The Life/form® Breast Examination Simulator is complete with teaching guide, American Cancer Society Guide to Breast Examination, and storage box. Now also includes a neck strap (3 ft. long) and a waist strap (4 ft. long) that are adjustable and can be strapped on.

Product Details:

The Life/form® Ear Examination Simulator makes it possible to practice examination of the human ear. Specially molded to exactly simulate external and internal physical appearance and dimensions, the plug-in removable ears are easily changed.

Life-size full-color prints on film, embedded at the tympanic membrane, provide the same realistic views experienced with a live patient.

The lifelike, flexible texture of the ears requires the same manipulation when using the otoscope as required on a live patient. Realistic irrigation and cleaning exercises are possible with the two tubes of synthetic earwax that are provided with the simulator.

A supplementary set of four ears is available separately for advanced nursing and medical school training (see LF01020).
